Interested in doing some courses with Wilkur Forge but find you are time poor?

Looking for a corporate team-building activity for your group in an environment nearly as far removed from a boardroom as you can get? Combine your team with with hot metal and fire. Now that's no ordinary team-building event!
Hand Forge Intensive streamlines the Wilkur Forge Hand Forge Basic and Intermediate courses into one, intensive course.
Suited to
Those starting out who wish to begin developing their hand forging knowledge in an immersive course.
Skill prerequisites
None.
However, you must be aware Hand Forge Intensive is intensive by name and nature. There is a lot of forging involved so you need to be prepared to handle the activity. Wilkur Forge will provide you with some simple preparations you can do so you are ready to undertake Hand Forge Intensive.
Hand Forge Intensive covers
Beginning with basic forms from bar sections the course begins with forging chisels and punches. From there we make some tongs and then use these tools to make hammer heads, swages, flatters and forming tools for use in the anvil you may have at home. Once the tooling is made we start producing the decorative components we will use to create a three-legged coffee table frame.
This is a lot of work to undertake when you are essentially starting from scratch. But with guidance from Wilkur Forge – and a few gentle nudges along the way – you will take home a number of tools for your workshop and a coffee table you never thought you’d be able to make.
Course duration
