Hand Forge Intermediate covers
Using coke forges techniques such as piercing, splitting, punching and fire welding are explained and demonstrated before you are encouraged to experience using these fundamental blacksmithing techniques.
Hand Forge Intermediate begins with making tongs and hand tools using hand forging techniques, including striking for other course participants. Carbon steel bar sections are forged into scribers, chisels and punches. Once the tooling is made, production starts on the decorative components to be used to create a three-legged coffee table frame. Blacksmith's joinery is used to assemble the parts.
This is a lot of work to undertake when you are essentially starting from scratch. But with guidance from Wilkur Forge you will take home tools for your forge, plus a coffee table you never thought you’d be able to make.
