* Wilkur Forge sells coke by volume, not mass, as the coke may be wet at certain times of the year, making the coke heavier than when dry. The amount of coke supplied is the VOLUME of coke initially loaded into the container. Due to its nature, the coke will settle during transit.
** Prices as noted are for coke picked up from Wilkur Forge's premises. Prices are subject to change without notice or obligation. Availability is subject to sufficient supply of coke being on hand to meet your order. Wilkur Forge reserves the right to restrict, or cease, coke sales without notice or obligation.
NOTE - it is the driver's responsibility to properly secure their load before driving on public roads and to make sure their vehicle and/or trailer is not overloaded. Wilkur Forge reserves the right to refuse to load vehicles and / or trailers it considers inappropriate, unsafe or likely to become overloaded with the amount of coke purchased.
Third party transportation of coke
Wilkur Forge can arrange freight of coke to Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns, Adelaide, Perth, Darwin and most places between at the buyer's cost. Delivery may be to a freight depot in the city closest to you, where you can collect the coke from. Alternatively, on-forwarding to your address may also be possible, subject to freighter coverage. Please contact Wilkur Forge for details.
How much coke should I buy?
As a rule of thumb, when hand forging small items you can expect 75 to 100 hours of forging time from 200l (approximately 110kg) of coke using proper fire management. Larger jobs and those involving power forging equipment naturally use more coke.
By keeping a record of the time you spend forging and the volume of coke you use, you'll soon be able to work out the rate at which you use coke in your forge with your typical forging activities. This way you can plan your future coke purchases accordingly.
Coke Runs
From time to time, Wilkur Forge arranges Coke Runs. These occur along major highways, with stops along the way, where you may take delivery of your coke in 200l drums directly from Wilkur Forge, with no freight cost involved. When the next Coke Run is being planned notice will appear here.
Charcoal
To help with offering an alternative solid fuel for forging use, Wilkur Forge is considering supplying hardwood charcoal to our customers in the near future.
